At Evolve Rehabilitation, we guide and support our clients through their rehabilitation journey, in a safe and structured environment. Through short, medium, or long-term residential support we support our clients to regain independence and re-learn daily activities.
About the role
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Therapy Assistant to join our team in a dynamic disability support setting for people with brain injury . The ideal candidate will provide valuable assistance to therapists in the delivery of therapy services for individuals with disabilities, fostering a supportive and inclusive environment. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of individuals and to contribute to the development and implementation of therapeutic programs tailored to meet the unique needs of each individual client .
Key responsibilities include:
Assist therapists in the implementation of individualized therapy plans for clients with a range of disabilities.
Provide direct support during therapy sessions, ensuring a safe and supportive environment.
Assist in the use of therapeutic equipment and tools, ensuring they are safe and functioning properly.
Help track progress by documenting session activities, client responses, and improvements.
Work closely with clients to provide encouragement and support during therapeutic exercises and activities.
Communicate effectively with therapists, clients, and families to ensure therapy goals are met.
Support clients with daily living activities as part of a holistic therapeutic approach.
Maintain client confidentiality and adhere to all professional and ethical standards.
This is a permanent position for 40 hours per fortnight and is located at Evolve Rehabilitation Hastings.
Desired Skills and Experience
About you
To be a Therapy Assistant you will need:
Minimum of 2 years of experience working in a therapy assistant or related role, preferably within a disability or healthcare setting.
Knowledge of therapeutic practices, disability support strategies, and relevant healthcare protocols.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively work with individuals, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
A patient, compassionate, and empathetic approach to working with individuals with disabilities.
First aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
