Job Description
About the role
As the Personal Assistant to the General Manager at Wakefield Hospital, you will be responsible for providing support and acting as gatekeeper to the General Manager (GM) to ensure the efficient running of the Hospital. You will be the right hand to the General Manager, providing high-level administrative support. You will manage schedules, coordinate meetings, handle confidential information, and ensure seamless communication across departments.
Provide accurate and timely secretarial and document support for the GM.
Manage the General Manager’s calendar, appointments, and travel arrangements
Assist with staff recruitment and appointment processes overseen by the GM
Arrange functions for managers, tenants and external parties as required by GM
Support the GM to maintain positive relationships with consultants, staff and patients
Provide a professional and welcoming reception service for the GM’s office.
This is a permanent position for 80 hours per fortnight and is located at Wakefield Hospital in Newtown, Wellington.

About you
As the Personal Assistant to the GM, you will have the ability to work under pressure whilst maintaining a high standard of service.
You will also demonstrate and have the following skills and experiences:
Previous experience in a Personal Assistant role
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and comfortable using digital tools
A sound knowledge of the English language and grammar
Strong attention to detail and time management skills
Honesty, integrity and an understanding of the significance of confidentiality and professional discretion
Well-developed written and communication skills
