We're seeking a skilled and experienced Maintenance Manager to ensure our hospital facilities are safe, compliant, and support our clinical teams in delivering exceptional care.

The Role
As our Hospital Maintenance Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance programme across all areas of the hospital. You will ensure our plant, buildings, security, and equipment are maintained to a high standard and in compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Developing and delivering a comprehensive maintenance programme
- Overseeing contractor and supplier relationships
- Ensuring all facilities meet compliance, safety and reporting standards
- Leading a small maintenance team and coordinating external contractors
- Acting as Deputy Chief Warden during emergencies or natural disasters
This is a hands-on leadership role, offering variety and responsibility in a modern hospital environment.
About You
You’re a practical, solutions-focused professional who brings technical expertise and a proactive approach to facilities management. You thrive in a busy environment and understand the importance of maintaining standards in a healthcare setting.
We're looking for someone with:
- A trade qualification in building services or a related field
- Proven experience in facilities or maintenance management, ideally in a regulated setting (e.g., healthcare, manufacturing, aged care)
- Experience in developing and implementing preventative maintenance plans
- Strong working knowledge of NZ building legislation, codes and health & safety regulations
- Experience with medical gases and boiler maintenance (or willingness to train)
- Confidence in leading small teams and managing external contractors
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and general computer systems
