About Us
At Bowen Hospital, we perform a wide range of diagnostic, interventional and surgical procedures. Situated in the picturesque hills of Crofton Downs, we pride ourselves on the exceptional outcomes we deliver to everyone in our care.

About the role
As an Administration Assistant, you will ensure the delivery of professional, high quality specialist consulting services.
You will:

  • Liaise with patients and consultants in a warm and professional manner
  • Coordinate patient files for daily clinics as outlined in the desk files, ensuring all relevant information is available to consultant at the time of appointment
  • Be efficient and accurate managing the consultant diary recognizing the need to give urgent cases priority
  • Be efficient in the management of patient appointments including maintenance of a recall list 
  • Assist patients with queries, e.g. insurance claims, surgery costings and related queries.

This is a permanent position for 80 hours per fortnight and is located at Bowen Hospital, Crofton Downs, Wellington.

Desired Skills and Experience

About you
You will have well-developed communication and time management skills, excellent interpersonal skills, and some flexibility with work hours to accommodate clinic needs.
You will also have the following:

  • Enjoy working independently as well as within a small team
  • Demonstrate competence in dicta-typing and computer skills
  • Demonstrate ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • An understanding of the importance of confidentiality
  • Knowledge of medical terminology an advantage but not essential
